Dr. Kofi Nuako was born in Ghana, West Africa,
where he received his medical degree. He has lived in the United
States for over 20 years and in North West Tennessee with his family
since 1999. Dr. Nuako said “the people here are just wonderful and have
made me feel at home”.
Dr. Nuako received his training at the
Good Samaritan Program of Johns Hopkins in Baltimore and the Mayo
Clinic in Rochester, MN, where he spent 3 years specializing in
gastroenterology.
Dr. Nuako has been published in national
journals on topics such as colon cancer, ulcerative colitis, and
ischemic colitis (insufficient blood flow to the colon.) He regularly
attends conferences to keep up to date on new developments in his
specialty.
Laura Russell is a native of North West Tennessee.
She was born and raised in Troy, Tennessee and where she now resides
with her husband. Ms. Russell received her B.S. in Nursing from the
University of Tennessee in Martin and her Master of Science in Nursing
from Murray State University in Kentucky. Ms. Russell is a Board
Certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in liver and digestive
diseases.
